For me, a picture is much more than a simple image, especially when it comes to teaching English. Pictures are successful and highly effective aids during lessons, which can act as useful speaking and writing prompts.
In our today’s lesson I wanted to stimulate my elementary students’ interest in reading a short story. So, they had to put pictures in the right order, write captions for them, and then make up the story.

And I managed to engage them, as they were really anxious to read the story and find out if they were right!
After checking their predictions, they had to choose the best title for the story, make up a new ending for it and even designing a cover picture!! It was so much fun!!
